Our Story

Garuda Nexus was established in Bangkok in early 2019 by a group of consultants who had worked across various industries in Southeast Asia. The founding team shared a common observation: many businesses struggled not from lack of ambition or capability, but from navigating unfamiliar regulatory environments, cultural contexts, or organizational structures without adequate guidance.

The name Garuda reflects both the mythical bird prominent in Thai culture, symbolizing vision and perspective, and Nexus, representing the connections between different aspects of business operations. This combination captures our approach: helping organizations see their situation clearly while understanding how different elements connect and influence each other.

Based in the Din Daeng district of Bangkok, we work primarily with mid-sized companies facing specific transition points. These include international firms considering Southeast Asian market entry, regional businesses undergoing organizational change, and family enterprises formalizing their governance structures. Our location in Bangkok provides proximity to both established business centers and emerging markets throughout the region.

We maintain relationships with legal advisors, financial specialists, and sector experts across Thailand and neighboring countries. This network allows us to connect clients with appropriate resources when their needs extend beyond our core consulting services. Our role is often to help organizations understand what questions they should be asking and where to find reliable answers.

Our Approach and Standards

Collaborative Process

We work directly with client teams rather than conducting research in isolation. This collaborative approach ensures our recommendations are grounded in organizational reality.

Confidentiality

All client information is handled with strict confidentiality. We maintain secure data practices and can accommodate additional confidentiality requirements as needed.

Clear Documentation

Every engagement produces written deliverables that organizations can reference independently. We avoid creating dependency on ongoing consulting relationships.

Regional Understanding

Our team has direct experience working in Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia. This regional knowledge informs our market assessments and recommendations.

Ethical Practice

We decline engagements where we identify potential conflicts of interest. Our recommendations prioritize client interests rather than generating follow-on work.

Clear Communication

We communicate in straightforward language and avoid unnecessary jargon. Questions and concerns are addressed promptly throughout each engagement.

Our Values in Practice

Respecting Context

We recognize that each organization operates within specific cultural, regulatory, and competitive contexts. Recommendations that work in one setting may not transfer directly to another. Our approach involves understanding these contextual factors before suggesting courses of action.

Acknowledging Uncertainty

Business decisions involve inherent uncertainties. We provide analysis of available information and likely scenarios rather than guaranteeing specific outcomes. This honest assessment helps organizations make informed decisions appropriate to their risk tolerance.

Supporting Implementation

Recommendations are most valuable when organizations can actually implement them. We consider practical constraints such as available resources, timeline pressures, and internal capabilities when developing proposals. Implementation support is available when helpful, though many clients prefer to manage execution internally.

Continuous Learning

Business environments evolve, particularly in developing markets across Southeast Asia. Our team maintains awareness of regulatory changes, market trends, and emerging practices through ongoing professional development and maintaining active connections within relevant business communities.
